The leading committees of the National Front of People's Resistance decided this weekend to call for a national mobilization to protest against the continued increases in the cost of living, violation of labor rights, political scandals and the dramatic increase in the insecurity prevailing under the Lobo- Hernandez regime.

Faced with the constant demands of organized social sectors in the National Front of People's Resistance, the leading committee decided to nationally promote the date Thursday January 24 to call for a national day of mobilization and protest because of the "astonishing failure" of the Lobo-Hernández government before the growth of the social crisis in the country.

On Saturday, at an analysis meeting called by the Popular Bloc and led by its national coordinator Juan Barahona, the organized social sectors ratified the need to return to the social mobilization to make visible the disagreement of the majorities with the current regime run by the de facto President Porfirio Lobo Sosa and the facto President of the National Congress Juan Orlando Hernandez, the last one, candidate with the second ballot in the recent internal elections after the consensus candidate of the Liberty and Refoundation party Xiomara Castro de Zelaya .

"We must continue meeting to develop the popular strategy of the social sectors for this year is significant in the history of Honduras," said the leader Rafael Alegría, current candidate for Congress for the Liberty and Refoundation Party and representative of the organized peasant sector.

"This year the slogan is that the streets and the polls are owned by the people," said Gilberto Rios, candidate for Congress for the Liberty and Refoundation Party and Secretary General of the Political Organization “Los Necios”.

Former President Manuel Zelaya Rosales, current National Coordinator of the FNRP and the Liberty and Refoundation Party has expressed its full support to the popular mobilization and the mobilization throughout the country.

In 2012 the mobilizations of popular sectors, despite the strong social crisis, were subject to the political agenda because of the internal elections that were being carried out, where the candidate Xiomara Castro was the most voted candidate of the pre candidates submitted to the process.
